Methionine is a lipotropic and a hepatoprotective agents. It is an essential amino acids containing a sulfur atom which protects the liver against necrosis.
It also control steatosis (retention of lipids in the liver).
Methionine is a precursor of the amino acid cystine; which is an important source of muscle energy.
It acidifies urine.

INDICATION:
Substitution therapy of disease involving the liver, such as parturient paresis, primary liver disease.
Secondary liver damage after infectious disease on intoxications.

DOSAGE:
By slow Intravenous, Intramuscular, subcutaneous injection or orally in small animals.
Cattle: 50 – 100 ml
Horse: 50 ml
Small ruminants: 20 ml
Dogs: up to 10 ml
If necessary repeat at interval of 6 – 24 hours
